Happy Old School Friday! This weeks theme is “Too Hot for Radio.” Now see, folks trying to get me in trouble with my moms or something now! She’s barely gotten over my tendency to drop F-bombs all over the place, and now I’m about to go and post…yeah, how can I not with this theme…”Darlin’ Nikki.”
This isn’t, on the surface, “Too Hot for Radio,” but if you pay very close attention, you’ll find that yeah, maybe it really is. My Bloody Valentine’s “Cigarette in Your Bed.”
Thanks for playing, y’all, and as always, much love to all the other OSF participants.

Classic pick with Darling Nikki. My mom used to play this album but skip this song, I never understood why until I grew up!
A lot of us got into some trouble with Prince’s old school lyrics. I got into more trouble when the hardcore rap became popular. Oh those were the days lol.
I was going to post Darling Nikki but couldn’t find it on youtube. I forget daily motion is much better. I not ashamed to admit that Purple Rain is one of my favorite movies, despite the very very very bad acting, I still love it. Must be the music.
If this is the video, then I can see how it could be racy. I have to google the lyrics, because I can’t quite understand all of the words.
I LOVE Darlin Nikki! Classic Prince! Definitely too hot for radio!
I will admit that I will sit and watch Purple Rain any day, anytime…and I love Darling Nikki…
I play this in the car and my son just rolls his eyes at me…he has yet to understand the Royalty!
Uh huh, can’t go wrong with that song from the Royal Purple One Who’s Not So Nasty Anymore.
Happy OSF
