Old School Friday – I Can Drink to This

It’s Old School Friday once again. This weeks theme is “I Can Drink to This.” Well, truth be told, I can drink to just about anything, but this weeks theme instantly made me think of Screaming Jay Hawkins’ “Alligator Wine.”

Amos Milburn is better known for “One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer,” but here’s a tune to remind us that just because you can drink to it, doesn’t mean you should (I’m still working on that one *sigh*). “Bad Bad Whiskey”

And finally, in honor of the legendary Earth Kitt, who passed away yesterday, I give you “Champagne Taste”:

Thanks for playing, y’all, and as always, much love to all the other OSF participants.

  2. I’ve never heard of Amos Milburn, that’s a serious tune though, I’m going to have to look into this a little more. Nice shout to Eartha Kitt.

  3. I agree with Regina…I’m totally scared of Screamin’ Jay!

Good vid of Ms. Eartha…I didn’t even know she was ill…I guess that’s because she was doing her thing, right up until the end!

    Happy OSF!

  4. Well done! I hadn’t heard any of your three choices before. Enjoyed each of them in different ways this evening…
