First, I don’t allow sexist language in the these parts. My blog. My rules. Don’t like it you can take your ass elsewhere. Second. I suggest you actually take the time to read the First Amendment and try to understand what it means. There’s no free speech issue here. DL is free to have and express any opinion he wants, just as the public is free to call him on his bullshit. If he loses his job over it, tough shit. Take your free speech bullshit elsewhere too.

I HAVEN’T SEEN DL’S SHOW AND DON’T PLAN ON WATCHING. FROM MY EXPERIENCE WATCHING HIS TV SHOW A FEW TIMES AND HIS COMEDY ACTS, THUMBS DOWN. HE IS NOT A GOOD COMEDIAN NOR ACTOR. I’M AFRICAN AMERICAN AND I STILL CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY HE WAS IN THE LINE UP OF BEING A KING OF COMEDY!! HE AND CEDRIC NEEDED SOME MATERIAL. I AGREE HE’S NOT FUNNY PERIOD!!!

Since my first response to D.L. Hughley’s show, it seems that he has toned the dumb n— image down a bit. I have not been able to watch an entire show live since that first one b/c I don’t like flinching and frowning when I’m supposed to be watching comedy. My first comment included telling D.L. not to let the white media use him. I hope maybe he got the message. It does seem in the few minutes of his subsequent programs that I have been able to watch, that D.L. has toned down that ignorance that white people like to see in their Black characters. I said to Mr. Hughley then and I repeat to all Black people: you are better than that. I think D.L. should keep making the “big bucks,” but not at the expense of Black people’s dignity. We are better than that!

I am so sad and disappointed in CNN. I am black, and have come to regard CNN as one of the most respected cable news stations on television. Doesn’t anyone see how this undermines everything we are tying to unchain ourselves from? I too want black programming, but not at such a high cost. Comedy is good, but Minstrel is Minstrel, and I don’t care how much money DL is paid. Obama deserves better. I would expect this from FOX. Shame on you CNN

DL Hughly is a COMPLETE loser. He simply wants a check CNN was stupid enough to give. Sorry CNN you lost a ton of credibility with adding this moron to your programming. As a black man, Mr. DL Hughly makes me feel embarassed. His comedy for this show is so bad, so porrly scripted and executed it is a shame.
My message to DL Hughly- YOU ARE EXACTLY WHAT OBAMA IS FIGHTING AGAINST!!! Your buffoonery is what keeps us down. Thank GOD Obama is so well spoken. It shows the world that ALL black men are not like DL HUGHLY!!!!Grow up Sir. The days of this type of comedy is behind us!!!!!

All of my friends have objected to this show, AND THE FACT THAT CNN WOULD DARE AIR SUCH STUPIDITY.

Let BET, MTV or Comedy Central air such thoughless, poor programming.

Please cancel the show!! Pay him the contract amount and run the weather in those spots. I would much rather watch stormchasers. He is a true embarassment to blacks. Obama is the 1 step forward and DL’s show is the 2 steps back for Black Americans. Pull the Plug Please!!!
