@thebewilderness: Y’know that’s a really good point. I’ll take it a step further and wonder if these same people also think that women, poc, and everyone else that isn’t a het white male should also vote for white males because they are white males. Because that’s the natural order of things to them.

He was even asked about this during his Meet the Press interview, and he pointed out that if that's what he was doing, he could have done it months ago. He then went into great detail as to why he was troubled by McCain and why he was supporting Obama. The conservatives who say this was a move of racial solidarity simply want it to be so, because then it is less damning of their candidate in their eyes. Fools. I think they do assume that people vote for white males because they are white males. So it isn’t surprising that they project their own mindless prejudice.
When a person argues that women only vote for women because they are women, and black people only vote for a black person because they are black, it seems to me that they are quite clearly revealing the basis for their own choice.

I was happy I was not on the computer yesterday for any great length of time because my fingers would have been numb. As ridiculously futile as the attempts were to point out the faulty logic of the "he did it because of race" talk I couldn't help but try.
