Thoughts on the Sarah Palin Email Thing

A) All parties involved aren’t that bright. It’s stupid for any public figure to use a Yahoo account for anything that you might want to keep private, like say potential government-related business. It’s equally stupid to break into the email account, regardless of where it’s hosted, of a Vice Presidential candidate. That tends to attract the attention of the Feds, and that proxy your hiding behind ain’t gonna cut it.

B) I knew this would get Michelle Malkin into a complete hypocritical tizzy. It’s perfectly OK to violate the privacy of “potential terrorists;” it’s quite all right to publish the email addresses and phone numbers and home addresses of those “stinkin’ liberals,” so that your minions can unleash on them; but to publish the equally private emails of a “true conservative” like Sarah Palin? Oh the horrors! What about privacy!

C) That said, I found what I believe to probably be the most accurate account of what actually went down at her site, and this was not “a hack.” It was a bored teenager using Google. You want real hacks? Go here. Or here.

D) All of you so-called liberals that are gleefully celebrating this as some kind of victory might want to remember your reactions to one Malkin doing equally unethical things. I’m just saying.

E) Anonymous and /b/ at 4Chan are still assholes.

F) Sarah Palin is still an asshole.

I also like gifts, but that's me being shameless.
