Republican National Convention Begins With Beat Downs

Just now catching up on the RNC convention. Things have been ugly there from the accounts I’ve heard. The protesters are being met with fierce resistance and getting beat down hard. They arrested Amy Goodman from Democracy Now!. Hell, even Donna Brazile got pepper sprayed.

I have no doubt that some of these protesters went too far. These are the types of protests that inevitably invite people that just want to stir up shit for the sake of it; but this all seems heavy handed to me. I’ve been watching my Twitter friends, and those on the ground in Minneapolis are reporting a lot of foulness.
