Thanks for the link. L’oreal is claiming that it is a lighting issue and that no photoshopping was done to this picture. Even if we were to give them the benefit of the doubt there is no explaining what happened to her nose.
@Renee: Not buying the “lighting issue.” Not at all. Any photographer worth her salt should know how to correct for “lighting issues,” especially if they’re working for L’oreal.
And yeah, then how do you explain her nose?
They are so busted!
Yes, the pic of Beyonce is lighter than most would like it, but what i want to know is did Beyonce sign off on this to be printed….if so, then what’s all the hulla baloo about. I have seen many photo’s over the years in Essence, Jet and other Black targeted magazines with some of our sisters lightened, brightened and almost whitened. This issue is almost pocket change to me. Let’s discuss things that matter.
@Olivia: Just because something is ubiquitous doesn’t mean that it should be ignored or not discussed.
And really, if you think this doesn’t matter and don’t want to discuss it, then why are you here discussing it, asking questions and all? If this is so meaningless to you, then I would appreciate it if you would refrain from insulting the folks that do want to talk about this and not come up in here telling folks what does and does not matter. If you think this doesn’t matter, then ignore it, move on, go find someone blogging about things that do matter to you.
