Wow. He was so young. This is incredibly sad.
CHICAGO (AP) — Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who teamed up in the casino heist caper “Ocean’s Eleven” and gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom “The Bernie Mac Show,” died Saturday at age 50.
“Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital,” his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.
He was a legend of comedy. A King.

Just saw this on the ticker – SO young. So sad. I liked Don Cheadle’s “heaven just got funnier.”
I have Sarcoidosis as well and Bernies passing hit me very, very hard. My oldest child is sick with fear. We had just told him about Bernie have the same disease as mommy as way to reassure him that I was going to be okay and now this morning we awoke to find out that he had died. He died far too soon. He might have been able to fight of the pneumonia had the sarcoid not done such a terrible job on him to begin with. This is a disease that does not get attention and I am sure it is because it primarily attacks blacks. Rest in peace Bernie.
I didn’t know about his Sarcoidosis until his passing. Then, I read up on it in the online papers and, of course, on Wikipedia. Very hard news to take indeed.
@Renee: I am so very sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Damn.

This is a very bad day for art.
