Oh msladydeborah, you don’t know how much I long for the old days of Hip Hop. It’s like that Chris Rock skit. Back in the day, I could defend Hip Hop on an intellectual and artistic level. But now? How the hell can any lover of Hip Hop defend Soulja Boy or 50 Cent? That’s why I have a category titled “I want my Hip Hop back.”

That said, I feel that Nas is, as they say, “true to the game.” He’s definitely not your most family-friendly rapper, but I think his vision is aimed at the betterment of black people. Does he say things that I take issue with? Yes. But I think he’s sincere in this effort.

And it’s hard for me not to be down with anyone going after Fox. If I can see the day when Fox News and BET are off the airwaves (and in my opinion BET is worse because they’re supposed to be about Black folks; at least Fox doesn’t pretend), I will be very happy.

I really don’t do hip-hop, but lynching needs to be added to a list of really ugly things said about women in some forms of rap.

But I also feel that Fox goes beserk because they crave the attention that their antics generates.

However, they go too far and that’s the real issue.
I suspect that will be some form of battle going on as long as they broadcast over the airwaves.
