In 1996, when I called the cops to report his beating me up, they quietly said, "It is our policy not to get involved with domestic disputes". I'll have to say that it seems little has changed. I'm still appalled at the attitude of law enforcement when it comes to violence against women. It's a effin shame. Uhg.
